Maya is our number three. She will be 4 years old in January .. her birthday is the day after mine, which means my birthday is forever in the shadow of this lovely little one.
We FIRST received "THE CALL" about Maya in May 2009. She came to us that very day. She didnt talk, had anxiety problems, and a handful of other 'issues' ... she had been in another foster home that wasn't in her best interest (to put it lightly) .. but, within a week, she began to open up and blossom! She lived with us for 5 months, and was able to go ... "home" to her birth mom. at the time I was sad to see her go, yet excited to have participated in a reunification!!! BUT .. sadly, only 5 short months later ... we received an emergency phone call, and she was back in our home in February 2010. This time though, she is HERE TO STAY.
Maya is so energetic! She loves to sing, make people laugh, and make sure everyone is "OK". Her favorite cartoon is Dora .. and she simply adores Sesame street. She would LOVE to be more of a helper to the babies, but alas, she isnt too much bigger than they are right now! LOL
Maya is a joy to have and a fantastic addition to our forever family!
